Fall from Fun

Fall from Fun

Recently finished working on a piece titled "Healing isn't Linear", specifically focused on the x-rays of my left fractured foot.

I really wanted the x-rays and bones to be the main theme of focus. Usually when I work with black, I enjoy incorporating neon colors specifically the primary colors.

here are my actual x-rays:

Now it wasn't my plan to magically fracture the top of my left foot this weekend to make art but somethings are better taken for what they are.

Now how did this happen you say?

Well, I traveled this past Thursday with my girlfriend Miranda to visit our friend who currently resides as a tattoo artist in San Francisco; @c0de.lyoko.

I've been looking forward to seeing my girls and having truthfully a weekend to remember. My spirits were high literally and metaphysically at this point. I just began my full-time position back in November and was ready for a little vacation full of love & Bad Bunny.

I even decided to splurge on myself and grant some first class tickets for my girl and I since I have never experienced it before.

Admiring my oklove lashes I got in Bunny recently; I even took a few days off work to enjoy a 5 day weekend.

This wasn't my first time visiting Jess; but rather my third trip within the last two years. Everything was looking up; I even treated myself to a beer while my girlfriend slept.

My music playlist for this flight consisted of Japanese House, SZA and my girl MegThe Stallion SO FEELING MYSELF.

Landing was great, even got to see the new apartment my friend is currently residing in. Time of landing was around 7 so we planned to go out, drink and dance the night away.

I was looking forward to visiting the Tonga Room but those plans changed and we drove around Japan Town looking for food & drinks.

We ended up going to small cocktail lounge for Karaoke called Fiesta Cocktail & Lounge where I had this delicious blue drink; Blue Tokyo I believe.

I did make my girlfriends take pictures after pictures for memories and for future collage reasons.

Karaoke was fun, I didn't participate but I love dancing to anyone else's singing. We had a few drinks up to this point and we headed out towards a dive bar. Which was totally regular; the only good thing that came out of there were some photo booth pictures.

It was late past this time, we ended our night or should i say morning; hello 2 am!

My friends had the idea to overlook the city lights up this mountain hill. looking back, that should have not been idea so late and of course in an influenced mindset.

The last picture I had before my great fall, just like humpty dumpty.

My left foot slipped and somehow I lost my balance and landed on top of my foot, so it definitely bent.

Leaving after that, I hoped it was a possible sprain but as the sun came out I realized that i am going to need medical attention.

Shout out to my girls for shipping me out the next day back to Southern California.

Now all i have is a fractured foot and a story to tell, Like the first time being wheeled around the airport and being pat down by security.

I try not to feel so down on my luck when I am truthfully a clumsy person, this wasn't my first time breaking a bone, I fractured my middle finger back in November. And somehow this was my second time fracturing my left foot. So maybe I just need to be more aware of my surroundings.

I knew once I got my x-rays I had to work on them artistically wise; in a way I am also self-healing when I make art.
