March Recap

March Recap

Although, I have missed a month of blog posts; I have been living life taking a step back from deadlines. Happy April! Im wishing everyone a wonderful spring commencement.

I wanted to recap what March had in store for me this year.

March for me was wonderfully spent but also a tad bit tedious as I settled into a new daily routine. Pisces season began the month, I have a sixth house in Pisces which is the house of routine, health and everyday life truly. Having Pisces in the sixth house makes me an everyday daydreamer. I can easily spend hours in my mind either ruminating or creating better tomorrow scenarios. I can be easily moved by the everyday things such as the weather or perfectly curated words in a book. But this makes it difficult for me to keep a steady routine and my focus is a little bit all over the place.

I am an early childhood teacher and thankfully have had the blessing of working a full 9-5 since November of last year. I had a few months of up and downs adjusting to working full time and can say I have reached a more relaxed flow with work and rest. Everyday I am working on keeping a balance between my career and my passion for art.

I celebrated my mother's birthday on the 13th with my family and even enjoyed a coffee cake from 85'C.

My friend Jess from San Francisco was also in town visiting during this time and it was nice to reunite and enjoy a night out dancing and drinking. She is a working tattoo artist so I asked her if she could tattoo one of her designs on my arm.

I also had the pleasure of attending the IE zine fest this month where I supported some local artists I follow such as Rebecca Ustrell and Vicky Irazoque.

I bought some lovely prints, stickers and a fun collage kit at the market where I attended with some friends.  This month also was special to me because it was my lovely boyfriend's birthday during Aries season.

I happen to have Aries in my seventh house; the house of relationships. We celebrated by enjoying dinner at UOVO, an Italian pasta restaurant. UOVO happens to be one of our favorite places to eat and they have a few spread between LA and San Diego.

The end of the month brought some lovely art events such as a display showing I had at a local art show in Fontana. I had three small collages on display for an event titled In Full Bloom which was put together by a local creative under the username snappedbysam.

It was a lovely event filled with other artists and small business owners. The end of the month also brought the closing reception for the group exhibition I was a part of titled; The Essence of Femininity.

This is where I had three collage poster boards displayed where I worked on encapsulating what femininity meant to me.

The closing reception was beautiful as it coincided with the Downtown San Bernardino Art walk.

My boyfriend and my pup, Bunny enjoyed walking through the alleyway of vendors and artists.

March was a packed month for me but now as April rolls around; I do feel slightly at ease. I am hoping to continue the flow between work and art as the year continues.

How was your march? How does Pisces and Aries season affect you?
