The Macrocosm and Microcosm

The Macrocosm and Microcosm

Been retreating into my own microcosm the past few months, attempting to detach from the pressure of the macrocosm of the universe. It is simple when you think of it; the inner parts of being human move, evoke in the same way the cosmos do.

The theory follows two philosophical connections; the different parts of the human body are equal to all the different components of the real world. The same way cosmic elements such as water, air, fire and earth makeup the universe; there are human body elements that behave in contrast. We can think of the real physical maybe gruesome aspects of the human body such as blood, red/black bile and phlegm.

The way I choose to interpret this theory in my waking life is to follow the changes within the planets (astrology) and how they affect & move the everyday human.

I believe this theory is studied and applied in real life yoga techniques such as the seven chakras. Known as the "vortices of human consciousness"; the root, the sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye and the crown. These are equal in contrast to the cosmic elements of water, air, fire and earth.

This philosophical theory has been on my mind (in a much simpler way lol); i am currently focused on listening to my body and following its needs.

This idea also reminds of the spiritual practice of Human Design. Human Design combines astrology and the chakra system to create a map of your body's energy. I learned about this practice a few years ago from following certain modern astrologers on twitter. Looks something like this; (this one is mine)

It studies your astrology and how your body responds to the world around you.  In Human Design there are 5 main energy types known as Generators, Manifesting Generators, Projectors, Manifestors and Reflectors. I am a generator which means that I am defined by my Sacral Center. The gut basically, human design teaches me that I should make decisions following my gut!! Which is a great alternative to my daily conditioning of overthinking, playing scenarios and retreating when I attempt to make decisions in my life. Why not make decisions on how exciting it makes me feel instead?! Ill provide a link in case you are interested in learning more!! https://jovianarchive.com/pages/beginner

I am fascinated by vast all encompassing theories that are "meant to" explain the way the universe works. I try to hold space for newer theories and not jump into completely being devoted to a new way of thinking. I like to live my life incorporating different elements of philosophical and spiritual practices in a way that makes sense to me. I am more fascinated in learning the foundations of different philosophical and spiritual practices and systems than following them tenfold.

Life is magical, why cant it be anything and everything all at once?

With all this thinking, focusing on turning 30 in a few weeks; I want to make more decisions in my life that bring me joy. I made a list a few weeks ago;

1: Read more books

2. Share my interests more openly (allow people to get to know me!)

3. Make time to connect with like-minded people

4. Become more involved in my community (actually showing up to local events to support)

5. Script/Journal More and work on affirmations

6. Dress up more! Continue to be funky and clashing

7. Spend less time scrolling and being more present

8. Dance & Exercise!!

9. Spend more time in nature and appreciating the world

10. Hugging myself and showing more self-love

11. Try a new hobby??!!

12. Become more organized (work on my calendar)

12. Practice gratitude in my daily life

Do you have any new goals in your life? How do you apply a new way of thinking to make your life run smoother?
